Road Trip Destination:
Deer Mountain Inn, Catskills NY

While the travel wanderlust in all of us has been tamed for 2020, there are still those "not too far away, yet not quite home" road trips that feel part vacation, part staycation.
For us, we're dreaming of the snow-covered cabin complete with luxe rustic decor, award-winning food, and a sparkling silver Airstream (which also provided the perfect wintry backdrop to our November Style Guide).

Road Trip Destination: Deer Mountain Inn
Where: In the hills above Tannersville, NY in the Great Northern Catskills (2 hours outside of New York City).
About: —A Catskills classic, originally built in the late 1880s, this cozy cabin has previously acted as a summer retreat, a camp, and more. Now, it's been re-imagined as a six-room lodge (complete with names and room dedications to historical figures like artists George & Mary Reid, Mark Twain) with charming decor—antiques mixed with modern touches.

Get Outdoors: Mountain views and hiking trails abound. The Inn is set on 170+ acres of woodlands with private hiking and walking trails to breathe in the fresh autumn air.

Dine: Seeking a Catskills dining experience? Dine in-house at the inn’s rotating pop-up chef series or stop by neighboring restaurants Peekamoose Restaurant and Tap Room for reimagined American fare or order online from the nearby Phoenicia Diner for classic diner food with a modern twist.

Game Room: There’s a pool table, board games, and bar on the third floor which is the perfect spot to play games with family, gather for pre-dinner cocktails, or cozy up by the fire and dig into your latest book.
