Travel Destination: An Early Summer Weekend At The Pridwin
A weekend at Shelter Island's Pridwin Hotel.
To kick off the summer season our Social Media Director Maggie McDonald and her husband headed to the Grand Relaunch Weekend at Shelter Island’s newly renovated Pridwin Hotel.
The magical weekend celebration featured a campfire concert, friendly competition on the pickleball court, relaxing afternoons spent at the spa and pool, and plenty of chic style, below.
Getting There
Shelter Island is an easy ferry ride from Sag Harbor, where our Bridgehampton store is located. A quick pop in at J.McLaughlin Bridgehampton and a rosé lunch at our neighbors just down Main Street, Pierre’s Restaurant–a classic French bistro serving local seafood and a bakery up front–are a must.

If you opt for the ferry on your next trip to Shelter Island, our newly opened Southold store is full of chic summer staples. From silky silhouettes in luxe lengths and bamboo and wicker little somethings to vibrant hues in the styles of the season like sets and maxis.

Where To Stay
The Pridwin Hotel is magical. Set on a hill overlooking the Peconic Bay, the Pridwin feels like your own private oasis where summer camp meets design-lover’s paradise. (Think: The Parent Trap x your Instagram Home Decor Saved Album.)
Recently renovated with interiors by Colleen Bashaw of Brown Hall Design, the Pridwin feels equal parts modern and nostalgic. It has the casual, laid-back vibe that I love, perfect for disconnecting and reconnecting. The Living Room, Restaurant and Terrace are gorgeously designed but not too precious. A long afternoon card game, anyone?
It’s the perfect spot for a romantic getaway, girls trip or family vacation. (Cottage for a family, yes please!)

What To Do
The Pridwin Hotel's Crescent Bar.
Visit The Crescent Bar.
Note: The lampshades, stained floors in green and tented bar.
Must-Try Cocktails: The Paloma and Double Trouble–a tequila, Mezcal, and watermelon combination mixed with ancho-hibiscus syrup and lime for a cocktail that’s a little refreshing, a little lively.
Must-Order Lunch: The Lobster Roll.

Blending In: My Audette Silk Wrap Dress in Peony Bloom matches the pillow fabric, which was decorator Colleen Bashaw’s starting point for the design of the hotel.
LOVE x 10

Must Do: A sunny morning spent playing pickleball.
P.S. The courts overlook Peconic Bay.

Favorite Hangout: The pool with water views!
Cooling Off: A poolside rosé after a competitive pickleball match is the perfect way to celebrate a win on the court.

A visit to The Spa is a must. Not only do they have the best services (Bespoke Facial with organic algae extracts, natural botanical oils, and Gua Sha, yes please!), they also have the most stunning interiors. I especially love the vintage swimsuits framed against the Clover wallpaper by Josef Frank.
Live music at The Pridwin Hotel's amphitheater.
Night One: After dinner we attended a concert in The Grove–the newest addition to the Pridwin is an amphitheater set against the tranquil coastal woods with yellow twinkling lights where we enjoyed s'mores by the firepit and a concert by local artists.
