J.McLaughlin’s Lee Anne Henrico Lets the Sunshine In with Her Debut Collection

  • This past weekend, J.McLaughlin brought the spirit of its summer campaign, “Let the Sunshine In,” to life in Rancho Santa Fe—and what a weekend it was.

On May 1st, the brand unveiled its new season in sun-drenched style with Chief Creative Officer Lee Anne Henrico’s debut collection. The May 2026 campaign, titled “Let the Sunshine In,” was photographed on location at the historic Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. To celebrate its launch, J.McLaughlin hosted a three-day Garden Party in partnership with The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe and luxury real estate platform Métier Maison. A portion of proceeds from the weekend benefited the Rancho Santa Fe Women’s Fund, underscoring the spirit of giving woven throughout the event.

The celebration began with an intimate kickoff on April 30, followed by a two-day trunk show open to the community at The Inn—the very backdrop to the campaign itself. Guests stepped into the world of J.McLaughlin, shopping the full May collection and experiencing its debut in a setting that perfectly reflects its inspiration. In a full-circle moment, the Garden Parties echoed the gathering captured during the campaign shoot, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to bringing collections to life through real experiences and staying deeply connected to the communities it serves.

  • Rooted in J.McLaughlin’s philosophy of living life well, the campaign explores the rhythms and rituals of its customer’s world—entertainment and travel, sport and culture, connection and occasions celebrated through effortless, joyful dressing. The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, nestled amid the rolling landscapes of North County San Diego, was intentionally chosen as the campaign backdrop for its timeless California charm, which mirrors the spirit of the collection.

The property itself carries a distinctive architectural legacy that reflects the heritage of Rancho Santa Fe. In 1921, architect Lilian Rice created the master plan for the community, shaping its enduring character with an emphasis on harmony, green space, and low-density village living. Her vision continues to define the area today, making it one of Southern California’s most singularly preserved planned communities. The Inn, originally constructed in 1924 by the Santa Fe Land Company as a guest house called La Morada for prospective homebuyers, was later renamed “The Inn” in 1941 and has since remained a storied centerpiece of the village.

  • Over the decades, The Inn has welcomed cultural icons including Bing Crosby, Charlie Chaplin, and Mary Pickford, a history still thoughtfully reflected throughout the property. Original architectural details—such as the wood-beamed ceilings in the lobby—have been carefully preserved, offering a tangible sense of place that bridges past and present. Today, that legacy continues in spaces like Lilian’s restaurant, named in honor of Lilian Rice, and Bing’s Bar, a tribute to longtime guest Bing Crosby.

“The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe felt like a natural home for this collection,” said Lee Anne Henrico, who joined J.McLaughlin as Chief Creative Officer in 2025. “Its timelessness, heritage, and California charm perfectly mirror what we wanted to capture: pieces that feel elevated from the court to cocktails. It has been an incredible privilege to bring this vision to life as my first collection for the brand, and I look forward to many more.”

“J.McLaughlin is an extension of our customers’ lives, not just their wardrobes,” said Greg Unis, CEO of J.McLaughlin. “With nearly 200 stores on Main Streets across the country, we’re proud to be part of the communities we serve—and this collection reflects that spirit. Our customers invite us into the moments that matter most: the places they love, the people they gather with, and the memories they create. Partnering with The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe and Métier Maison allowed us to bring that sensibility to life in a way that captures exactly that: living life well, in style.”

“We were thrilled to welcome J.McLaughlin to The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe for this beautiful celebration of the season,” said Andrew Archibald, Managing Director at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. “The spirit of this collection and its deep appreciation for the moments worth savoring felt entirely at home here. The Garden Party was exactly the kind of gathering our property was made for, and we hope guests left feeling the magic of this place.”

With an array of prints, textures, and themes, the May Collection speaks directly to the J.McLaughlin customer’s way of life—feminine florals in lush prints, novelty textures showcasing the brand’s craftsmanship, reinvented silhouettes for women and men, new Clubhouse pieces for active resort living, and sophisticated occasion dressing for life’s most memorable moments.
