Welcome to wicker wonderland! We celebrated the kick off to summer with a wicker-filled soiree in honor of June 23rd’s National Wicker Bag Day.
The festivities kicked off at our Madison Avenue flagship store, where guests like Emma Bazilian of Schumacher and Priya Rao of The Glossy Podcast sipped on chilled cocktails and chatted about our official New York City re-emergence and our wicker-wrapped bicycle.

Post-cocktails, guests strolled next door to Island, our charming island-inspired restaurant with a jaw-dropping tablescape designed by Eddie Ross.

The vibe—a chic floral wicker explosion— J.McLaughlin wicker bags current and vintage overflowing with garden fresh flowers, tea light candles wrapped in raffia, and a splashy blue and white shibori tablecloth.
Charleston-based tastemaker Venita Aspen looked stylish beyond words in front of Island’s fireplace which was filled to the brim with wicker and flowers.
WWD’s Alexandra Polkinghorn,Town & Country’s Olivia Hosken, and Domino Magazine’s Julie Vadnal dined on summer fresh watermelon salad and crispy chicken milanese.

The dinner party was complete with a wicker bag cake designed by The Dutchy of Millbrook and Washington Post contributor, Elizabeth Mayhew inspired by our Olivia clutch. The frosted confection was almost too pretty to eat, but we all agreed a party isn’t a party without a slice of buttercream cake.
