Saltwater breezes, gilded mansions, and plenty of summer style, there are few places more idyllic than Newport, Rhode Island. Our Marketing Director, Jordan Delane, is still dreaming of her long weekend, with days spent sauntering down the famous Cliff Walk and cool summer nights under clear New England skies.

Below, Jordan shares her favorite Newport hot spots, and a look at her July travels.

The Mooring

Located on Newport’s Historic Waterfront, The Mooring has served locals and visitors for over 35 years with “top-of-the-catch seafood”, warm hospitality, an award-winning wine list, and locally sourced raw bar offerings. Favorite bites? Jordan is still dreaming about the Lobster-Shrimp Fritters with maple chipotle aioli. For those with dietary restrictions, there are several gluten free options–like mussels with lemongrass, coconut milk, and green curry broth.

The Clarke Cooke House

The Clarke Cooke House is a quintessential Newport experience. With a sophisticated menu–seared foie gras, yes please–, whimsical ambience overlooking the harbor, and iconic energy–The Clarke Cooke House has served royalty, captains of industry, celebrities, and local scalawags. Jordan says this is a MUST!

The International Tennis Hall of Fame is a must-visit while strolling through town.  The grounds and museum are both open 7 days a week and are filled with history–over 1,900 artifacts from legends like Jimmy Van Alen, Jane Brown Grimes, and Bud Collins.

PS: It’s the perfect venue for private events–like welcome drinks pre-wedding according to Jordan. The bride’s grandmother looked chic in her head-to-toe J.McLaughlin. Love <3.
