National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day
“I’ll just have one bite.”
We all know these famous last words, which seem all-too-familiar when it comes to the classic chocolate chip cookie. This sweet treat even has a day dedicated to it (which is this Sunday, by the way).
To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, as if you need a reason to treat yourself, we’re rounding up the best of the best in our markets (in no particular order) so you can honor this classic confection, on Sunday and everyday. Just be sure to save room for dessert.
New York--Levain Bakery
A New York classic. Levain’s massive cookies are perfectly Instagrammable...and delicious!
Ovenly--more like heavenly--holds a special place in our hearts. Located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, the home of our corporate offices, this female-founded bakery sells award-winning sweets. Their Salted Chocolate Chip cookie is J.McL team favorite.
Locals love this Lowcountry bakery serving up seriously awesome made-from-scratch sweets. All you need is a glass of milk to wash it down.
One Google Reviewer raved that, “Eating a cookie from JD’s is one of the finest experiences life has to offer.” We think that’s reason enough to earn this bakery a spot on our list.
Harbor Springs--Tom’s Mom’s Cookies
If we could personally thank Tom’s Mom, we would. This charming shop has been baking award-winning cookies using the same recipe since its opening in 1985. They take the classic chocolate chip to the next level, specializing in a hefty 3-ounce chocolate chunk cookie that will satisfy even the pickiest cookie lover.
Charlotte, St. Louis, Palm Beach--Bricktops
- With locations in a number of our markets, this one is a no-brainer. The skillet cookie from Bricktops is the everyone-grab-a-spoon and dig-in dessert that dreams are made of. A giant, gooey chocolate chip cookie topped with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate fudge and caramel drizzle? Do they take walk-ins?
Well, we’re officially craving a chocolate chip cookie right now. Are you?
