Tips On Keeping Skin Healthy After A Night (or few) Of Indulging?

Most people don't realize that skin directly correlates to our digestive system. If we eat something we can't digest, there are consequences! Alcohol is horribly drying for skin and also inhibits the digestive system. It causes people to break out after a weekend of partying and makes people look super dry.

First, focus on detoxing – drink a green juice instead of coffee. I love an all greens juice with romaine, celery, cucumber, spinach, parsley, kale and apple with a dash of lemon and ginger. A green juice instantly hydrates the skin from the inside out and gets your digestive system back on track. It will decrease puffiness in the eyes and will improve dark circles. My skincare solution for the skin needing greens is my Daily Serum. It's a green juice for the skin! It contains chlorophyll, galactoarabinan and oat grass juice to oxygenate the skin while stimulating cell turnover and lymphatic drainage.

Any Secrets On De-Puffing Pre-Party?

Drinking green juices daily and cutting out coffee is the ticket back to great skin! Green juice will help to oxygenate the skin, which means the skin will be better able to rid itself of impurities and bring in nutrients.

A gentle lymphatic massage will release the fluids that collect around the eyes and will reduce swelling. By stimulating the lymph system, you move fluid out of your tissues into lymph nodes where bacteria, viruses and other harmful microorganisms are destroyed.

Using all four of your fingers, delicately massage the area along the sides of your nose and underneath the eyes in a circular motion. Then, move to where the corner of your eye and the cheekbone meet, using the same light massage motion with your fingertips. Next, move down and in front of your ears, still massaging in a circular motion. This will help drain the fluid across the cheekbones relieving pressure and puffiness.

Also, a great natural ingredient for puffy eyes is sweet potato – I have it in my Revitalizing Eye Cream

Tips For Flaky Winter Skin?

Sleep with a humidifier in your bedroom. It will add just enough moisture to the environment to give your skin the chance to do some real healing. For those who are afraid of the bacteria that sometimes can accumulate in a humidifier, you can even get a little one that attaches to a mini water bottle.

I would also recommend a soothing, hydrating mask with yogurt and honey. These are awesome ingredients for a post-party treatment because the yogurt disinflames the skin while the honey hydrates. Avocado is something I recommend for any skin type – avocado has lots of B vitamins and fatty acids, so it’s essential to keep the skin hydrated, even in dry winter weather.

1/2 cup yogurt

1/2 avocado

1/4 honey

Leave on the skin for 20 minutes, then rinse.
